About us

 

We are Mohawk Missionary Baptist, an independent Baptist church located in the historic city of Rome inside Oneida county in the heart of central New York at the foothills of the Adirondacks mountains. Surrounded by Fort Stanwix originally built in 1758 and the location of the first shovel of dirt turned for the Erie Canal. Formerly known as "Copper City" due to the production of ten percent of the nations copper. With all this history, Rome continues staying relevant by being at the forefront of technology and drone research at the former Griffiss Airbase location.

 

With the continuing transition in technology and the fluctuating economy, Rome has a wide variety of people from poverty stricken to affluent and a wide variety of educational accomplishment. Even with the hope of tomorrow, the struggles of today still exist. Frantic schedules, stressful job environments, and strained relationships still haunt us. But there is hope for a brighter future, God provides forgiveness and salvation, an avenue for purpose and meaning. A small church with a mighty message that is easy to understand. A place where all are welcome no matter how casual they are. A place to answer the question, "Where does GOD want me?"
